Mobile updates: Release version 2.0.11
We have exciting enhancements to share about our Locate2u app. These changes (in release version 2.0.11 for iOS and Android) improve the functionality and ease of use of our services.
The goal was simple: to ensure that every item and shipment is accurately tracked – from pickup to delivery.
The latest update also enhances our Proof of Delivery (POD) features and makes the overall user experience better, for both drivers and dispatchers.
Why? Because we understand that managing logistics can be complex! So, we wanted to simplify your operations, to have more control of your delivery process.
Read on for a detailed overview of the new features and improvements.
We’re excited for you to see how these changes can make a significant impact on how you manage and execute deliveries!
New Feature: Enforced Scanning for Onboarding and Delivery
This update introduces mandatory scanning reminders for drivers during onboarding and delivery of items using barcode scanning.
Features:
- Scanning Reminders:Â Drivers will receive prompts to scan any unprocessed items.
Example prompt for onboarding:
- Skip Options:Â If a driver chooses to skip an item, the following prompts will appear:
Â
- For onboarding: “Do you want to skip scanning onboard item ABC1234?” (Options: Cancel | Skip)
- For delivery: “You have scanned 3/4 items, do you want to skip scanning the remaining item(s)?” (Options: Cancel | Skip)
Â
- Stop Note Documentation: If items are skipped, a Stop note will be created to specify the skipped item(s).
Note: This feature is available only if the new Item Scanning functionality is supported. Customers using the previous scanning process will not be affected.
New Feature: Handling Shipment Contents Questions in Delivery Groups
This update improves the management of Proof of Delivery (POD) questions related to shipment contents in delivery groups.
Issue:
In some cases, stops were delivered without addressing specific shipment contents questions (e.g., isAlcohol) due to being part of a group.
Solution:
- If there are shipment contents questions within a group of deliveries, these questions will now be asked only once.
Example:Â When using bulk completion, if one of the stops in the delivery group has a specific shipment contents question, we will ask it once along with the other questions.Â
- For multiple stops with identical questions, only a single prompt will be presented.
Example:Â Bulk completion of POD (Here all stops are with the same question, hence only a single prompt to answer it for all)
This change streamlines the delivery process and ensures all relevant questions are addressed efficiently.
Feature: Source Reference field available on Mobile apps
The Source Reference field allows drivers to see and input a Source Reference for each stop.
This also enables drivers to search for stops specifically by their Source Reference, making the process of locating and managing stops more manageable.
Description:
- Source Reference attached to a Stop is now displayed as a separate field in stop details.
- Drivers can input a Source Reference when adding a stop.
- The mobile app allows drivers to search for stops using the Source Reference.
Feature: Photo Quick Capture as Sole Option
This feature has been updated to provide a full-screen camera interface, mirroring the proof of delivery capture system.Â
It includes including flash and the ability to choose photos from the gallery, ensuring a smoother and more versatile photo capture experience.
Technical description:
- The photo capture interface for custom questions will be updated to match the full-screen proof of delivery capture.
Â
- Users will have access to a full-screen camera view, flash functionality, and the option to select photos from the gallery, based on configuration settings.
Feature: Add Permission Setting for Customer Name Text Field availability
You can now control whether the customer name field appears on the stop details screen in our mobile apps, with options to show or hide it based on your preferences.
This is configurable via the app’s settings page.
Technical description:
- If Disabled:
- The customer name text field will be hidden on the stop detail screen.
- The customer name text field will be hidden when adding or editing a stop.
- If Enabled (Add Stop For Customer setting):
- The customer name text field will be visible on the stop detail screen.
- The customer name text field will be visible when adding or editing a stop.

Feature: Display Services Attached to a Stop
Now, with this feature, drivers can see specific services linked to each stop right on their mobile app.
This makes it clear what tasks are required at each location.
Technical description:
- In Locate2u, services are predefined facilities or work types categorized as services offered to customers based on job requirements.
- If a service is associated with a stop, the stop detail form will display this information to the driver.
- The displayed service name will appear under the contact details/visit section, positioned above the load information.
Additional Context:
- Services can be configured through Settings > Services in the App Portal.
- Each service can include a description, pricing (both inclusive and exclusive of tax), and a quantity type (e.g., hours, monthly, or annual packages).
